The Steelheads are a creative steel drum and percussion group from Flint, Michigan.

The highly acclaimed group has performed in concert venues and international jazz festivals throughout the US and Europe, including Syracuse, Detroit, Montreux Switzerland, and A’ Vienne and Nice France. Their unique and dynamic blend of pop, Caribbean, and jazz makes them a crowd favorite wherever they perform

The band, now in its 32nd year, was founded in 1993 at Mott Middle College by noted Michigan jazz educator James Coviak, who currently directs the ensemble and occasionally sits in on drums.
